Nidec Motor Corporation offers a new line of U.S. Motors brand Titan Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) motors for use in hostile environments with pumps, compressors, fans, blowers and conveyors. The new models are offered in 150HP through 600 HP.
TEFC Corro-Duty Titan enclosures have cast iron frame, conduit box, bearing caps and end shields. Titan TEFC motors are suited for use in the petrochemical, pulp and paper, wastewater, electric power, steel, forestry, cement and mining industries.
U.S. Motors brand TEFC motors are designed to operate in 40°C ambient temperature and at a maximum altitude of 3,300 feet above sea level. The motors are rated Class B rise at 1.0 service factor and Class F rise at 1.15 service factor with full Class F or better insulating materials, according to the company. Nidec Motor Corporation conducts a short commercial test on each Titan TEFC motor consisting of no load current tests, locked rotor current (performed at reduced voltage), winding resistance, high potential and a vibration check.
